Washers are multipurpose fasteners that are vital in a variety of applications. In general, washers have two main functions:
- to distribute the pressure of the nut evenly over a surface without damage and to ensure that the nut is pressed against a smooth surface
- to reduce the chances of loosening over time. Ensure a tighter join with a lock washer, or pre-load it with a wave washer.
Shims can be used to incorporate spacing and clearance in all manner of applications. They can be used as a temporary solution or as a permanent component in many different settings. We offer standard and custom shims in a variety of materials and a comprehensive range of sizes and shapes.
